Preparing a pheasant for the table.

This is a new experience for us. John was given a pheasant today and we have no idea how to prepare it for eating.

I immediately went onto YouTube to see what videos I could find to do a bit of research.

This is the video I liked the best....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYa3UbB1YjU

Have you ever plucked a pheasant before?

Our family is a mixture of vegetarian, vegan, and carnivore. I'm a bit squeamish when it comes to preparing meat for the table but I think it's important to know where your meat comes from and what's involved in the preparation. It's always a little sad to see beautiful creatures that are no longer full of life but I think it's important to make the best meal possible out of their remains so we show some respect for their life.

So wish us luck as we discover another part of living in the French countryside, here in the BĂ©arn.
